As its 34-hectare The Upper East township is one of the biggest venues for this year’s MassKara Festival, property giant Megaworld is ramping up the celebration of the city’s most colorful festivity as it showcases the smiles of the passionate and dedicated Megaworld employees in Bacolod through a special festival music video dubbed ‘Megaworld Smiles.’
According to a press release, the video was released on Megaworld’s official digital platforms Friday, also in celebration of ‘World Smile Day.’
The music video kicks off the grand celebration and hosting of the MassKara Festival at The Upper East, Bacolod’s iconic central business district. ‘Megaworld Smiles’ features the men and women of Megaworld in Bacolod showcasing everything there is to love about Bacolod City—from the sights to the food, and everything in between—while grooving together with the MassKara dancers to the tune of this year’s official MassKara Festival music.
Shot in various locations in and around The Upper East as well as another Megaworld township, Northill Gateway, the video features iconic spots including the Las Vegas-inspired Bacolod Welcome Marker; McDonald’s The Upper East, the most beautiful McDonald’s store in the Philippines; the three-storey The Upper East House inspired by the Guest House or the ‘White Mansion’ inside the former Bacolod-Murcia Milling Company (BMMC) complex; the historic BMMC train, which also features the world’s first-ever McDonald’s Dessert Station on a train; the Bacolod New Government Center; and Landers Bacolod, the biggest in the Philippines to date.
Towards the end of the video, the Megaworld employees can be seen dancing around a gigantic Megaworld Smiles billboard, laid out on the ground just outside The Upper East House.
Some of the biggest celebrations that form part of this year’s MassKara Festival will be hosted inside The Upper East, in partnership with the Bacolod Yuhum Foundation. From October 13 to 22, the township will host events like the MasskaEats, Beats, & Arts, the Masskanamit Food Fest, the MasskaAuto Car Meet, Into the K-Fever headline by Namyangju Branch of Baebeng-i-gut Conservation Society, one of Korea’s premier traditional performance groups, a mask making competition, Emperador Nights bottle painting and mixology competition, nightly parties and DJ performances, and many more.
On October 21, Saturday, The Upper East will also be hosting the Electric MassKara Parade, a showcase of the most creative MassKara floats that will light up the entire stretch of the Upper East Avenue to delight Bacoleños and festival goers from various parts of the country.*
