A man believed to be mentally ill was found dead and crushed beside the road in Sitio Biaren, Barangay Manalad, Ilog, Negros Occidental, early yesterday morning.
Initial police investigation by the Ilog Municipal Police Station revealed that the victim’s body was found lying on the roadside, severely disfigured and unrecognizable, appearing to have been run over by a heavy vehicle.
The police reported that the victim was wearing a brown long-sleeved shirt over a black T-shirt, green shorts, and blue slippers.
According to a witness identified as ‘Joel,’ the victim had a mental disability and was often seen in the area.
The victim’s body was transported to Sola Gracia Funeral Services in Sitio Lupni, Barangay Hilamonan, Kabankalan City, for proper disposition.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify the vehicle involved in the incident.*
