A 16-year-old male was taken into custody by Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Station Ten during a buy-bust operation on Thursday evening.
The minor was found in possession of an estimated one gram of suspected shabu valued at P6,800.
The operation took place at 7:28 p.m. at Purok Matinomanon, Barangay Felisa, Bacolod City.
Police recovered a total of three sachets of suspected shabu, P200 in buy-bust money, and a coin pouch from the suspect.
The BCPO said the minor violated Sections 5 and 11 of the Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
Under the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act RA 9344, a minor arrested for such a crime is considered a “child in conflict with the law” and is generally not subject to the same penalties as an adult.*
