A minor died after she was hit by a vehicle and ran over by a tricycle on Saturday at the national highway of Brgy. Lag-asan in Bago City, Negros Occidental.

The 9-year-old victim was crossing the highway when she was hit by a Hyundai Reina sedan driven by Nat Arnel Amar, according to initial investigations of the Bago City police.

Worse, the victim was subsequently run over by a tricycle driven by Roniel Negare, police said.

The minor was reported by the police to have been declared dead on arrival at the Bago City District Hospital.

The two drivers involved in the incident were brought to the Bago City Police Station for further investigation.

Thirteen others were also reported by the police to have been injured in separate road crashes yesterday in Ilog and Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Eleven persons, including a minor and a three-month-old infant, sustained minor injuries after the vehicle they were riding fell on its right side at Sitio Mambucano in Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City, police said.

The driver, whose identity was not available as of last night, reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

Two Army soldiers were also injured yesterday after the motorcycle they were riding hit a rock along the national highway at Brgy. Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental.

The victims identified as Cpl. Kirbey John Tupaz and PFC Nestor Eudela II are now in stable condition while undergoing treatment at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.*
