A minor is now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, after he allegedly hacked a 78-year-old woman dead, on February 8, at Sitio Pisong in Brgy. Bulwangan, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The victim identified as Angelina Escorial, 78, succumbed to multiple hack wounds and died on the spot, as reported by the police.
Police investigations showed that the victim reprimanded the minor using a bamboo stick, for hitting her dog.
The minor apparently got angry, went to the house of the victim, and hacked her several times.
The 17-year-old suspect later surrendered to barangay officials, who turned him over to the San Carlos City Police Station.*
