A minor, reported missing on June 27, after going for a swim with siblings and friends at a river in Purok Santos, Brgy. Zone 15, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, was found dead yesterday.
According to a report of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the cadaver of the 12-year-old victim was found at the Matab-ang River in Hacienda Santa Maria 1, Talisay City.
The victim was reported to have drowned.
Initial reports said that the victim, her two elder sibling and friends, an all-female group, went for a swim, before she went missing.
The search and retrieval operations of Talisay CDRRMO was joined by the Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fire and Protection.*
