The Sipalay City government through its City Health Office, in collaboration with the Negros First Provincial Blood Bank, conducted a Mobile Blood Donation activity on July 18, at Barangay Mambaroto, in the city.

The activity is in accordance with the Republic Act No. 7719, also known as the National Blood Service Act of 1994, that aims to encourage voluntary blood donation and promote public awareness that blood donation is a humanitarian act.

The donors were personnel from national agencies and volunteers from the different barangays of the city. The donors then received 2.8 kg of rice and a towel as an incentive.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) Region VI also conducted a seminar with the City Health Office and its Local Drinking Water Committee on the same day at the New Government Center in the city.

The seminar focused on the guidelines and responsibilities of the Local Drinking Water Quality Monitoring Committee and the Philippine National Standard for Drinking Water.

It aims to ensure quality water sources and safe access to potable water.

Among the attendees were City Health Officer Dr. Florencio Juplo, DOH Development Management Officer Caroline Tumabotabo, Sanitary Health Inspector Joelito Subayco, Provincial Sanitary Inspector Marilyn Hostan, DOH R6 Engineer Joemer Fayo, DOH R6 Medtech Dennar Jun Romey, and Aireen Legard.*
