In a collaborative effort to empower local farmers and strengthen the agricultural economy, World Vision, with support from the Citi Foundation’s Project AID (Agricultural Innovation Development), has launched a mobile market and digital training initiatives in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.
The cornerstone of the project is the Market Pod, a mobile hub designed to bring fresh produce directly from farmers to a wider range of buyers.
Following the launch, the Market Pod was officially turned over to the local government unit and Central Philippines State University (CPSU) to ensure its long-term benefit to the community.
To further enhance farmers’ competitiveness, Project AID also introduced a digital farming training that equips farmers and young community partners with essential skills in using social media for marketing, agricultural apps for data-driven decisions, online payment systems, and climate-monitoring tools.
The skills are designed to help them expand their customer base and increase their earnings.
The training, held at the CPSU-Moises Padilla Campus, was conducted with the support of the Moises Padilla Municipal Agriculture Office.
The goal of Project AID is to improve food security and nutrition for vulnerable families in the region.*
