The municipal government of Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental has earmarked a P50-million development fund for 2026 to finance major infrastructure, economic, social, and environmental programs aimed at improving public services and local development.
The proposed projects include road and bridge construction and rehabilitation, environmental protection initiatives, and education-focused programs that enhance literacy and numeracy among the youth.
Mayor Ella Celestina Garcia-Yulo presented the plan during the Municipal Development Council (MDC) meeting held on October 14, which discussed the allocation of funds under the 2026 Annual Investment Program.
INVESTMENT PROGRAM BREAKDOWN
The proposed fund for investment programs include Infrastructure Services – P24 million, Economic Services – P14 million, Social Services – P8 million, Other Services – P2.6 million, and P2.1 million for Environmental Management.
The allocation also includes the amortization payments for the municipality’s heavy equipment to sustain ongoing infrastructure works.
Garcia-Yulo emphasized that the 2026 investment plan reflects the local government’s commitment to transparent and responsible fund management, ensuring that every peso is used for projects that directly uplift the lives of Moises Padilla residents, a statement from the municipal government said.*
