Owners of houses destroyed by the trough of Tropical Storm Paeng in the coastal barangay of Tuburan, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental, are expected to receive P5,000 financial each, Mayor Marvin Malacon disclosed.
This is on top of housing materials, comprising of corrugated metal sheets, nails, plywood and nipa, turned over to 10 families of Sitio Takas in Barangay Tuburan, EB Magalona on November 3.
Malacon also announced that the municipal government will also give housing materials to about 40 families of Sitio Takas whose houses were partially damaged by Storm Paeng, pending the assessment of the Municipal Engineer’s Office.
Malacon was assisted by Municipal Planning and Development Officer Engr. Erwin Poniado and Tuburan barangay chairman Ramonito Espacio Jr. in the distribution of housing materials.
On the other hand, the Office of Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, represented by his staff Lawrence Chua, turned over 100 food packs containing rice, noodles, and canned goods, along with 100 umbrellas, t-shirts, basketballs and volleyballs to the affected families in the same barangay.
The donations were received by Malacon, Vice Mayor Eric Matulac, Councilors Joey Pugales, and Isidro Gomed Jr, Engr. Erwin Poniado, and Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Emy Lyn Hibionada.*
