Troopers of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company have temporarily taken over the EB Magalona Police Station in Negros Occidental after its personnel were subjected to COVID-19 swab testing.
This was after one of its police personnel and a Non-Uniformed Personnel tested positive for COVID-19, PLt. Wilma Silva, spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, said yesterday said.
Silva, however, said that some of them had already tested negative of the virus, while the test results of others are still pending.
The two COVID-19 patients and their colleagues, who had been in close contact with them, are now under quarantine at the EB Magalona healing center
The number of police COVID-19 patients, who are members of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, rose to 19, with two EB Magalona Police Station personnel and another assigned at the Victorias City Police Station added to the list, as of Saturday, regional police spokesperson Lt. Col. Joem Malong reported yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Office has 24 personnel who tested positive for the virus, Malong added.
Of the 112 police personnel infected by the virus in Western Visayas, Malong said that 88 have already fully recovered, while 23 others are still active cases, and one died.*
