Two more coronavirus disease testing laboratories in Bacolod City were accredited by the Department of Health recently.
The biomolecular laboratories of the Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital and The Doctors’ Hospital Inc. already started operations this week.
Dr. Evangeline Johnson, BQMH chairperson, said yesterday that they will limit tests to 120 to 150 per day as they have received thousands of reservations, including those from Iloilo.
She said they will enter into a memorandum of agreement with other private hospitals to serve their patients and frontliners.
She added that they will also serve the city government, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and dialysis centers because “the need is overwhelming.”
They might see the need to add another reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) machine soon, she also said.
Celeste Tad-y, spokesperson of The Doctors’ Hospital, said the Covid-19 testing is by appointment and registration online.
She added that the link is posted on its official Facebook page.
The TDHI biolab, that is located at its parking lot, is housed in a prefabricated shipping container van set up.
Dr. Rafael Jocson, TDHI chief, said earlier that despite its uncommon design, quality and safety have not been compromised.*
