MORE POWER reaches out former guv to clarify JVA

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The proponents of the Joint Venture Agreement reached out former Negros Occidental Gov. Rafael Coscolluela, who served as provincial consultant for Energy, Environment and Natural Resources, to clear issues and concerns regarding the JVA.

We took it upon ourselves to come, to know the issues, instead of hearing from the third parties, I’d rather hear it from him, MORE POWER president Roel Castro said.

After his meeting with Coscolluela, Castro said some issues have been clarified, although not yet substantively.

“He is not saying he is against JVA per se, he wants to know more about JVA,” Castro added.

Asked his impression on Coscolluela, Castro said he is “open minded.”

Castro added that Coscolluela wants to know more about the contents of JVA, and how it will be implemented, given the problems facing CENECO right now.

“I did not come to convince him to support the JVA, I came here to clarify issues,” he stressed.*
