A 150MW solar project is up for establishment in areas covered by Brgy. Felisa, Bacolod City, and Brgy. Tabunan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

With this development, the Negros PH Solar Inc. have sought the favorable endorsement of the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

In a letter to Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the Negros PH Solar Inc. said the solar farm project covers an area of 113.7 hectares, and was able to secure the Environment Compliance Certificate from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, as well as Certificate of Non-Coverage with the National Commission on Indigenous People.

The project area is now on the final stages of development prior to construction, which is being eyed in the first quarter to 2023. It is also dependent on the completion of the Cebu-Negros-Panay interconnection project by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, the solar firm said.

Negros Occidental Board Member Manuel Frederick Ko said that Negros PH Solar Inc. officials are set to arrive in the province on January 4 to present their projects to provincial officials.

The firm also said that they have already secured endorsement from Brgy. Tabunan in Bago City, and are presently updating the endorsement from Felisa barangay officials in Bacolod City.*
