Moroccan mauled by fiancée’s ex

A 25-year-old Moroccan reported to the police that he was ganged up on by three suspects on Thursday, at Purok Tabucol in Brgy. Bacong, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

As a result of the mauling, the victim suffered physical injuries which were perpetrated by the former live-in partner of his fiancée and two other suspects, identified only through their aliases, Sweet and Nonot.

Initial investigation conducted by the Bago City police showed that heated arguments ensued between the Moroccan, who arrived in the country two months ago, and the former live-in partner of his fiancée, who demanded financial support for their three children.

Following the heated arguments, the 27-year-old suspect hit the victim with a chain, after punching and kicking him while he was on the ground.

The two companions of the suspect also joined in hitting the victim, the police investigation further showed.

The victim was later brought to the Bago City Hospital by his fiancée, for treatment of his injuries, before reporting the incident to the police.

According to the Bago City police, the victim arrived in the country on September 22 this year, to marry his partner whom he was acquainted with for five months through Facebook.

Meanwhile, a Grade 12 student was stabbed and robbed of his cellular phone on November 2 in Sitio Mambato Proper, Brgy To-oy, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Police investigation showed that the victim was hit in the head with a bottle and stabbed with a knife by the suspect, who also took his Samsung A13 phone.

The suspect fled after the incident, while the victim is now being treated for his injuries at a hospital in Bacolod City.*
