Policemen responding to a vehicular collision on September 7 at Purok Bomba in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental, recovered a kilo of suspected shabu with a market value of P6.8 million.
Initial investigation of the Murcia police indicated that the motorcycle, driven by Carl John Arroyo, of Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod City, figured in a collision with another vehicle.
Responding Murcia policemen recovered the suspected shabu from the sling bag of Arroyo, who was tagged by authorities as an alleged drug courier.
The recovered shabu reportedly came from San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, PMaj. Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, told Aksyon Radyo.
Arroyo is now detained at the custodial facility of the Murcia Police Station.
A former female inmate was also arrested on Saturday for violation of RA 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, in Brgy. 27, Bacolod City.
The arrest of the suspect identified as Genelyn Aguas, 34, yielded an estimated seven grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P47,600, according to reports of the Bacolod City Police Office Station 4.
Aguas has reportedly been jailed before, also for violation of RA 9165.
Three persons were also nabbed by the police on Sept. 6, at Sitio Acacia in Brgy. Malasibog, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, allegedly for engaging in a pot session.
Their apprehensions yielded three sachets of suspected shabu with a market value of P1,020, and illegal drugs paraphernalia.*
