A motorcycle driver died while his back rider was severely injured after colliding with a carry van yesterday morning along the National Highway of Purok Kapahuan 2, Barangay Sampinit, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Investigation revealed that a Brown Suzuki Carry, driven by a 64-year-old alias Mau, was traveling north to south, when he reportedly experienced a blowout of its left front tire and lost control of his driven vehicle, swerving into the opposite lane of the highway.
As a result, the car collided head on with the motorcycle driven by alias Nest, 48, with a back rider given the alias Feb, 21, who were traversing on the opposite side of the road.
The driver was killed as a result of the incident, while his back rider sustained severe injuries. The driver of the carry van sustained minor injuries.
The three involved were brought to the hospital. Further reports stated that the motorcycle driver succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The Suzuki Carry and Honda click scooter both incurred heavy damage at the front.*
