• THERESA MAE DULMAN

A 45-year-old motorcycle driver died following a multi-vehicle collision involving another motorcycle and a cargo truck along the National Highway in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental, late Sunday evening, May 24.

The Murcia Municipal Police Station identified the casualty as ‘Reynaldo,’ a resident of the town.

The other drivers involved were identified as ‘Daniel,’ 23, of Purok Gonzaga, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City, who was driving the second motorcycle, and ‘Lemuel,’ 40, of Barangay Batad-batad, Moalboal, Cebu, who was operating the cargo truck.

Police records reveal that Reynaldo was executing a turn from Canlaon View Subdivision onto the National Highway when his motorcycle was struck by Daniel, who was traveling from Murcia toward Bacolod City.

The initial impact threw Reynaldo into the inner lane of the opposite side of the road.

He was subsequently struck by the incoming cargo truck driven by Lemuel, which was traveling from Bacolod City toward Murcia.

Reynaldo sustained fatal head injuries while Daniel sustained physical injuries from the collision.*
