In preparation for the Muay Thai Friendship Games, the City of Bacolod, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, International Federation of Muay Thai Association, and the Philippine Sports Commission, called for a meeting with the primary purpose of finalizing event needs and to ensure proper coordination with concerned sectors, yesterday at the City Mayor’s Office, Bacolod City Government Center.
It was attended by Muay Thai Association of the Philippines (MAP) representative Christian Abelarde, DRRMO staff Kris Dela Cruz, Ayala Malls representatives Tracy Ann Dalguntas and Starlene Portillo, and Office of Youth and Sports Development Head Adrian Melocoton, a press release from Bacolod PIO said.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the event is open to those interested to join and that they may register through online or in-person, in-person registrants may register at the Bacolod City College on July 22 starting at 8 a.m. The event will also serve as a venue to promote the athletes coming from the Visayas region to compete in the nationals.
Additionally, the event will run from July 22 to 25 with the checking of the athletes’ vitals and weigh in on the first day, July 22, at the Bacolod City College.
The games will be on July 23 to 24, and the awarding on the last day, July 25, at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central.*
