Murcia CAFGU detachments get financial assistance

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The six CAFGU detachments stationed in Murcia, Negros Occidental, got financial aid from the municipal government of Murcia, in recognition of their efforts in maintaining peace and order in the town.

Mayor Gerry Rojas turned over the P150,000 financial assistance to Brig. Gen. Orlando Edralin, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, on Wednesday, which was witnessed by commanders of six CAFGU detachments.

Each of the six CAFGU Active Auxiliary units received P25,000.

The financial support is aimed for utilization in the improvement of the CAA patrol bases and to assist them in their day-to-day operations as they safeguard the community, according to Capt. Mervin Rosal, 303rd Infantry Brigade Civil Military Operations officer.

The six CAA patrol bases are being supervised by the 79th Infantry Battalion.

In a statement, Edralin lauded the efforts of Rojas in giving recognition to the efforts of government security forces stationed in Murcia.

“It is through collaborative efforts, such as these, that our local government demonstrates its profound respect for the sacrifices made by our CAAs.” he said.*
