Murcia mayor’s FB page hacked

The official Facebook page of Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas was hacked and could not be accessed by its Iegitimate creator and admin since the other week, according to a press release.

A public warning bearing the hacked FB page was posted in the Murcia Tourism Office-Page, the text of which reads:

“Please be informed that the Facebook page ‘Mayor Gerry M. Rojas’ has been hacked since last week.

The public is hereby cautioned not to entertain any request for financial assistance or any post / activity in the page, because it is not an official post from the Office of the Mayor.

Measures are presently being undertaken to recover the admin function of the said Facebook page.

The press release adds that a report and an appeal to Meta for the recovery of admin rights to the page had already been submitted.

The Office of the Mayor has also requested other departments and LGU agencies in Murcia to share the post for wider dissemination of the information among its constituents and the public.*
