A 28-year-old man who was cleared of murder charges by the court, was found dead on June 12, with multiple injuries, beside a river in Brgy. Bacuyangan, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental.
The victim was identified by the Hinobaan police as Jerry del Carmen, alias Pinok, 28, of the place. He succumbed to multiple hack wounds, including fatal injuries on the neck and head.
According to the police, the lifeless body of Del Carmen was discovered by Danilo Noquira, who was on his way to his farm. The cadaver was brought to a funeral parlor in Hinobaan for post mortem examinations.
It was learned by the Hinobaan police that the victim was accused of murder on April last year, but the case was dismissed by Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Branch 61.*
