Maya Art Space at Tippy’s Bistro along 10th-Lacson streets, Bacolod City is currently hosting the first solo exhibition of Negrense artist Sheila “Mick” Escalona titled “My Palette and Bristles,” which opened on February 21.
Escalona became an official member of the Artisticrew after joining the art group in their mural project at an animal shelter in the city in February 2024.
As a visual artist she has participated in various exhibitions, murals, and other art activities showcasing her works alongside fellow Filipino artists.
She is a self-taught artist who constantly seeks to learn new techniques and ensure that each artwork she creates becomes a unique piece. At present, her artistic style is characterized by fine brush strokes and vivid colors using acrylic and watercolor. She also continues to discover new art styles, as well as experiment with different media.
Meanwhile, Tippy’s Bistro co-owner Terence Dacles said he is proud that there are many talented artists in Negros. Together with his cousin, Tippy, they have been supporting and promoting artists by providing a space where they can showcase their talents.*
