Police tracker team members nabbed on Sunday a mechanic at Purok Kabulakan, Barangay Maquiling in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, wanted for 15 counts of rape.
The suspect, a 51-year-old mechanic and a resident of Zamboanga City, was nabbed during a joint manhunt operation of Sagay City police, troopers of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion – Negros Island Region and Zamboanga City Police Office Station 9, by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 15 in Zamboanga City, for 15 counts of qualified rape of a minor.
The arrested fugitive was also denied bail by the court.
Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man was also arrested by barangay tanods on May 25 at Sitio Cabunao in Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, for alarm and scandal, and violation of the Comelec gun ban.
His arrest yielded a caliber .38 revolver with three ammunition and two empty shells.
According to the police, the 60-year-old complainant is the father of the arrested suspect.
On the other hand, the arrest of a teenager on Sunday at Purok Gemelina, Barangay 1, in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, led to the recovery about 18.37 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P124,916, along with a stolen motorcycle.*
