The newly elected set of officers of the Negros Association of Government Information Officers and Liaisons (NAGIOL) officially took their oath of office yesterday, administered by Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall.
The association is led by newly sworn President Dina Callejas of the Provincial Public Information Office (PPIO) and FO2 Paul Servano, spokesperson of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Bacolod City, as vice-president, as they formally took their respective executive positions.
Callejas, in her message, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to deliver government information to the people more accurately and efficiently.
“This mandate is not just a position; it is a commitment to work to advance government information and empower good governance,” she said, reminding her members of their crucial role in the society as being the “bridge between government and the people.”
Alaine Borja from PPIO and Bea Fortaleza of the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO) will serve as the executive secretary and assistant secretary of the association, respectively.
Borja shared the current status of the association and revealed that for the sake of Securities and Exchange Commission registration, the NAGIOL, Inc. will be renamed as NAGIOL Negros Occidental, Inc. due to financial and legal reasons.
Moreover, NAGIOL is set to lead this year’s Western Visayas Information Officers’ year-end conference, the last conference that the association will join as the Negros Island Region was already established, Borja said.
The newly sworn set of officers will be in position for the 2025-2028 triennium term.
NAGIOL Negros Occidental is a group of information officers in the province organized to provide proper information dissemination within the province, under the watch of the provincial information office.*
