The Department of Trade and Industry is slated to distribute P15,000 in cash aid to 335 rice retailers in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City on September 28.
Reginald Hudierez, head of the Consumer Protection of the Department of Trade and Industry in Negros Occidental, said of the total target beneficiaries, 42 are from Bacolod City.
The payout venues will be in Escalante City for those in the northern portion of the province, Bacolod City for the central area, and in Kabankalan City in southern Negros.
Hudierez added the decision to put up three separate venues for the payout is to lessen the travel expenses of beneficiaries.
Additionally, the payout will now include owners of sari-sari stores that sell rice and have complied with Executive Order No. 39 mandating a price ceiling on regular and well- milled rice.*
