Negros Oriental has a new provincial police director.

PCol. Bryant Demot assumed command yesterday of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office at turnover rites held at Camp Sergio Osmeña Sr. in Cebu.

Demot replaced PCol. Arnel Banzon, who had served as officer-in-charge of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office for more than four months.

Police Chief MSgt. EdilbertoEuraoba III, NORPPO public information officer, said yesterday that the order of Demot took effect Sept. 24. On the other hand, Banzon was reassigned to the Police Regional Office 7 headquarters in Cebu City.

Demot was former regional chief Learning and Doctrine Development Division of the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO 1) in northern Luzon.

No reason was given for the reassignment of Banzon to PRO 7.

PBrig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro presided over the change of NORPPO leadership in Cebu City yesterday.

PCol. Manuel Placido also assumed command of the Bacolod City Police Office Thursday, replacing PCol. Henry Biñas, who is now assigned as chief of the directorial staff of the PNP Drug Enforcement Agency at Camp Crame.

Placido had been also assigned at PRO 1.*
