
A Negrense police officer assigned to Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) was awarded a Medal of Merit for the arrest of high-value individuals and confiscation of P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu by Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6).
Awarded was PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr., ICPO-City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) team leader, with two other CDEU members.
PBGen. Sidney Villaflor, acting PRO6 Regional Director, awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan or Medal of Merit to recognize the exemplary performance of CDEU at Camp Martin Teofilo Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City.
The award was given for their intelligence-driven operation and the successful conduct of the buy-bust operation in Brgy. Hipodromo, Iloilo City which resulted in the arrest of four HVI’s, two street-level individuals (SLIs), and the recovery of 34 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.
The confiscated contraband weighed 220.1797 grams with standard drug price amounting to P1,497,221.69, buy-bust money amounting to P15,000 pesos, and other illegal drug paraphernalia.
Iloilo City Director PCol. Joeresty Coronica commended the hardworking team of ICPO-CDEU for the high-impact anti-illegal drug accomplishment and attributed the successful operation to the people of Iloilo City who helped ICPO to accomplish its mission to curb the supply of illegal drugs and put drug personalities behind bars.* YCC/N&CA
