Various farmer organizations in Negros Occidental received P2.3 million of rice threshers on Wednesday, November 27, from the provincial government of Negros Occidental.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Provincial Agriculturist officer in charge Dina Genzola led the ceremonial turnover of farm machinery at the Negros First Organic Technology Center in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City.

The recipients are Tuy-anan Farmers Association (Brgy. Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto), Camao Farmers SWISA (Brgy. Marcelo, Calatrava), Sta. Rosa Small Farmers Association (Brgy. Sta. Rosa, Murcia), Binintigan Farmers and Rural Farm Workers Association (Brgy. XI, Victorias City), Gloria Ilimnan ARB Farmers Association (Brgy. Sta. To ensure the proper use and upkeep of the machinery, the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist conducted an orientation session on the operation, maintenance, and rules for the rice threshers.

The custom-built rice threshers are designed for enhanced efficiency, offering significantly higher capacity compared to manual threshers.

They are expected to minimize post-harvest losses and improve productivity, providing valuable support to the farming communities of Negros Occidental, according to a statement issued by the Public Information Division of the Negros Occidental provincial government.*
