The Negros-Sagay Football Team is preparing for the PFF U19 Boys National Finals in Carmona, Cavite on June 21-29, with a training program at the Pana-ad Park and Stadium.
The Negrense team is set to defend its title after being hailed as the champion in the PFF Under-19 Boys National Championship – First Division at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite, in June 2022, where they defeated the National Capital Region FA after a gripping 1-0 extra-time victory.
The Negros-Sagay Football Team Training Program is made possible through the collaboration of Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) and the Abanse Negrense Sports Programs, spearheaded by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson and assisted by Provincial Sports Development Program Management Section head Anthony Carlo Agustin. The team is also sponsored by the Sagay City government and the Office of 2nd District Rep. Alfredo Marañon III.
Apart from the team’s training program, tryouts also started on May 29, for qualified players who should be born in 2004, 2005, and 2006.
Meanwhile, Negros Occidental’s Pana-ad Park and Stadium remains the premier multi-purpose sporting arena in the province, with various sporting events recently held in the stadium.
Buglas Futbol Philippines held the 2nd COPA A.B.B. (Abanse Buglas Bootfest) on May 20, while the Department of Education’s Alternative Learning System conducted its 3-day Pasundayag 2023 on May 24-26. In the upcoming weeks, more sports activities will be held, such as the Real Negrense Football Club vs. Old Skol Football Club of Dumaguete friendly match on June 11.
Moreover, Buglas Futbol Philippines will also conduct the 3rd leg of its COPA A.B.B. (Abanse Buglas Bootfest) on July 22-23, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., where 20 teams will participate, in preparation for the SingaCup 2023 in Singapore on November 6-12.
Rotaract Club of Metro Bacolod’s Rotary Cup 2023: Sipa for Polio will also take place at the Pana-ad Park and Stadium on September 16-17.*
