In the penultimate category of the Sugbu Grand National Open, the Mixed Doubles Open category, the combined forces of STAI and STAI Youth – Bowler X dominated the competition, taking home the Championship, 2nd runner-up, and 3rd runner-up titles, where the championship team of Sydmond Vista and Andrey Barbosa (STAI Youth – Bowler X) led from the start, maintaining their position as the front runners throughout the tournament
Meanwhile, the duo of Mark Hodgkinson and Stephen “Karl” Barbosa (STAI) made a stunning comeback, climbing from 13th place to secure a quarterfinal berth, eventually earning the 2nd runner-up title. The pair of Micco Necessario and Ice Villarosa displayed their resilience as they got into rhythm by the quarterfinals, clinching the 3rd runner-up position.
Andrey and Syd’s steady performance as the tournament leaders were complemented by Ice and Micco’s teamwork in the latter stages, with Mark and Karl’s determined efforts allowing them to claw their way back into the competition, proving their grit and skill on the lanes.
