Negrense micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will join the five-day National MSME Week that will kick off today.

Rachel Nufable, director of the Department of Trade and Industry in Negros Occidental, said the online trade fair will feature webinars that would tackle topics on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on MSMEs, including policy measures.

She said the Negrense MSMEs enrolled in the webinars were into handicrafts and food businesses.

She added they will have a chance to promote their products as potential clients are also invited to the virtual trade fair.

“Institutional buyers were invited to join. They can buy or invest in a product. This will give an opportunity to our MSMEs,” she said.

She encouraged MSMEs to establish online payment schemes to minimize physical contact with customers and to be adept at technology.

Topics in the five-day webinars are “Building an Enabling Business Environment for Resilient and Sustainable Enterprises” set to be discussed today, “Inclusive Financial Innovation for Recovery and Sustaining Enterprises” for tomorrow, “Developing Resilient Entrepreneurs as Drivers of Innovation” on Wednesday, “Leveraging on Technological Innovation for Disaster-proof and Sustainable Enterprises” on Thursday, and “Riding the Wave of Digital Transformation for Sustainable Enterprises” to be tackled on Friday.*
