Negrense singer performs at Great Wall of China

Singer Jenny Cusay from La Carlota City*

Negrense singer Jenny Cusay was invited to perform during the inaugural Feng Shui calligraphy exhibition on the Great Wall of China in October that was hosted by Master Yun Longzi, marking a historic moment.

Cusay was the first Filipino artist to sing on the Great Wall of China, during the event which drew international attention, with delegations from 13 countries and over 200 representatives attending, a press release furnished the DAILY STAR said.

Cusay is recognized for her captivating voice and versatile musical repertoire. She effortlessly creates the perfect ambiance for various events, whether she’s serenading audiences with timeless classics or contemporary pop hits.

She previously held the position of resident singer at Singapore’s renowned Fullerton Bay Hotel. Her performances significantly enhanced the hotel’s atmosphere, leaving a lasting impact on guests and providing them with memorable musical experiences.

At the Great Wall exhibition, Cusay performed two songs, “Prosperous Lotus on Water” and “My Life is Getting Better”. These tracks, recorded for Lotus on  Water  in  Singapore,  are  featured  year-round,  adding  to  the  gallery’s distinctive atmosphere.

Incorporating the majestic scenery of the Great Wall, Master Yun carefully crafted 69 feng shui calligraphy pieces.

In these works, there are depictions of dragons soaring in the sky, phoenixes greeting the sun, and both dragon and  phoenix together symbolizing auspiciousness. These  pieces  not only reflect the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Great Wall but also resonate with the  Chinese  nation’s  traditional  belief  that  dragons  and  phoenixes  are symbols of good fortune. The dragons and phoenixes in these works further represent the auspiciousness of the Feng Shui Period 9 and Period 1, all showcasing Master Yun’s profound cultural depth and artistic prowess.

Furthermore, among the delegations from 13 countries, the Cambodian royal family formed a 10-person delegation, including esteemed members like His Royal Highness Prince Sisowath Tesso, His Royal Highness Prince Sisowath Chivannariddh, Her Highness Princess Norodom Chansita.*
