Profits of the exhibitors from the ongoing 12th Negros Business Expo at Robinsons Place Bacolod have already reached almost half a million pesos, as of Sunday.
Frank Carbon, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry executive officer, said there are 19 exhibitors composed of micro-enterprises joining the exhibit.
The exhibitors selling locally-made food and other goods are from different towns and cities in Negros Occidental, Carbon said.
He also said that the exhibit, on the theme “Finding Opportunities for a better tomorrow”, started on April 16 and will end on May 2.
Carbon said that this activity is in cooperation with the provincial government to spur economic activities amid the pandemic.
He said that among the goods being sold at the fair are dried fish and handicrafts.
In July this year, a similar exhibit will be held at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central and another at SM City Bacolod in October, he added.
Food processing demonstrations and lectures on how to be profitable during this pandemic will also be organized by MBCCI and the provincial government. Carbon, who is also the vice president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Visayas, said that exhibits like this are necessary to generate more income for rural-based micro-entrepreneurs.*
