The Mixlada Art Group, in partnership with the Ayala Malls Capitol Central, organized a group art exhibit featuring the works of 35 visual artists from Negros and Capiz at the ground floor of Ayala Malls that opened Wednesday last week and will run until February 28.
The show titled “Likha” is being held in celebration of the National Arts Month.
Guests of honor were Rodney Martinez and Patty Jane Ong, past president and incumbent treasurer of the Arts Association of Bacolod-Negros, respectively, and Sharon Ciocon, Ayala Malls general manager.
Featured are the works of Agustin Chavez Jr., Anthony Tonogbanua, Adrea Locsin, Bamboo Tonogbanua, Charles Villanueva, Christine De Villa Ragudo, Chen Levina, Cyrene Cuenca, February Cherryl, Giljohn Quiamco, Jean Gancia, Jenevieve Abeto, Jushua Decolongon, Juliet Emperado, Kristine Alonso, Kon Faustino;
Lito Labayen of Capiz, Mai Cuenca, Malou Flores, Marides Zayco, Marie Resureccion, Ma. Joeyyanne Lo, Mei-Mei Lonasco, Michelle Ma Belle Corteza, Noel Martinez, Patty Jane Ku-Ong, Pablita Nava, Ramon Alonso, Remy Banez, Robert De Aro, Steve Maquiling, Sugar Tonogbanua, Chrysee Samillano, Willie Coloso and Zianne Talamillo.
Sugar Tonogbanua, exhibit organizer, said the title “Likha” means to create. So, the exhibiting artists are showcasing the works they have created in modern and abstract form using different art media.
Tonogbanua comes from a family of artists and heads the Mixlada Art Group which has been conducting art workshops at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central.*
