Team Asenso Isabela, led by Vice Mayor Renato Malabor Jr., supports the call for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to run for president in the elections next year*

Another political group in Negros Occidental, Team Asenso Isabela, committed to support Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio if she runs for president in the 2022 elections.

The team, led by incumbent Vice Mayor Renato Malabor Jr., held a recent dialog with Padayona Inday Sara Movement-Negros leaders, led by its convenor, retired P/Col. William Senoron, and said that “Inday Sara is the only probable presidential candidate, who has the capacity and willpower to continue the legacy of her father, President Rodrigo Duterte.”

Team Asenso Isabela includes former councilor Raffy Uy as their bet for vice mayor, with Francis Malabor, Elsa Candelario, Danny Magan, Henry Fuscablo, Jonel Magallon, Sarry Sarimong, and Reden Decena as candidates for councilor.

Former councilor Patrick Miguel Montilla, brother of the late mayor Quito Montilla, and former barangay captain Anthony “Makoy” Javelosa, of Brgy. Aguisan, Himamaylan City, also expressed their support for Duterte-Carpio.

Malabor, who is a member of the United Negros Alliance and National Unity Party, that also supports Duterte-Carpio, said the decision of the team “is a consensus of our group in consultation with our leaders in Isabela.”

Malabor called on his fellow Isabeleños to also join the movement to urge the presidential daughter to run in next year’s elections.

Silay City Mayor Mark Golez, Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson, La Castellana Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan, and Hinigaran Mayor Nadie Arceo have earlier openly declared their support for Duterte-Carpio.*
