Negros Occ Army chief promoted

Col. Inocencio Pasaporte, the top Army official in Negros Occidental is now a general.

Pasaporte, who serves as the 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, and five ranking officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, have been promoted to the next higher rank by President Rodrigo Duterte, on recommendation of Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and the Board of Generals, headed by AFP chief, Gen. Cirilito Sobejana.

Pasaporte said his promotion to the rank of brigadier general took effect June 22.

Also promoted to brigadier general were colonels Robert Velasco, Augusto Gaite, and Ferdinand Razalan, while Commodore Danilo Fuentes was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral.

Pasaporte, who is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1991, supervises the internal security operations of the 62nd and 79th infantry battalions in Negros Occidental.

With his promotion, Pasaporte is set to occupy a higher position in the AFP soon.

Col. Michael Samson, deputy commander of the 303rd IB, is also a member of PMA Class 1991.*
