Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is bracing for Negros Occidental to be included in the list of Alert Level 1 classification on April 16.
Lacson disclosed that the Inter-Agency Task Force is leaning towards the direction of putting all local government units under Alert Level 1, starting April 16, regardless of the vaccination status.
He said he believes this will turn Filipinos to be more complacent. Still, Lacson encourages Negrenses to observe minimum health protocols if the province will be placed under Alert Level 1.
At present, Negros Occidental is under Alert Level 2, except for five local government units placed under Alert Level 1.
While the Provincial Incident Management Team recorded two additional COVID-19 cases yesterday, the number of active cases dropped to 10.
Negros Occidental has a total of 41,374 confirmed cases since 2020, with 39,396 recoveries, and 1,967 deaths, PIMT records show.*
