The province of Negros Occidental received yesterday 6,400 vials of Sinovac vaccine from the Department of Health, Provincial Incident Management Team head, Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian, said.
Caelian said that the four boxes of vaccines arrived at 8:10 a.m. yesterday at the Bacolod-Silay Airport on board a Cebu Pacific passenger plane, and were immediately transported to the cold storage facility of the provincial government.
Last week, the provincial government also received 16,800 vials of Sinovac from DOH.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said that they are about to turn over 13,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine to local government units, based on population, for the inoculation of Negrenses under the priority category A1 to A3.
With the giving of regular doses of vaccines to the province, Diaz said the provincial government cannot afford to fall a step behind the vaccination schedule of the national government. He said that there will be simultaneous vaccination activities in all LGUs starting tomorrow until Friday, with observers from the DOH and the Provincial Health Office monitoring the rollout.*
