
Negrense athletes who won medals in the recently concluded Palarong Pambansa 2025 yesterday received a total of P941,500 in cash incentives from the Negros Occidental provincial government.
Each gold medalist received P10,000 per medal, while silver and bronze medalists were awarded P7,000 and P4,500, respectively.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Ramir Uytico, regional director of the Department of Education Negros Island Region, and Anthony Liobet, OIC assistant regional for DepEd NIR, led the distribution of incentives at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall in Bacolod City.
Negrense athletes won a total of 18 gold, 20 silver, and 21 bronze medals in the recent Palaro.
Coaches and trainers of the medalists were also granted cash incentives.
Moreover, athletes who established new records in various sporting events received additional cash rewards.
The Palarong Pambansa was held in Ilocos Norte from May 24 to 31, 2025, where Western Visayas placed third in the overall championship.*
