Negros Electric and Power Corporation (NEPC) guaranteed its consumers that there will be no power disconnections and no penalties for non-payment of electricity bills for the billing period covering November 4 until December 31, 2025.
The moratorium applies to both residential and non-residential consumers.
The assurance comes despite the concurrent confirmation of a slight increase in the electricity rate for the month of November.
NEPC stated that residential rate has slightly increased from P11.91 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) in the previous month to P12.23 per kWh for November 2025, while the commercial rate is P12.28 per kWh.
Bills reflecting this adjustment were issued starting yesterday.
Negros Power said in a statement that the rate hike was primarily caused by increased WESM prices due to power plant issues after the October 2025 earthquake, the mandated resumption of the Universal Environmental Charge, and a higher Feed-in Tariff Allowance, though a decrease in transmission charges offered some relief.
In addition to the disconnection moratorium, Negros Power also stated its support by offering flexible payment options specifically to customers consuming not more than 100 kWh per month.*
