Negros Power energized another remote community in Negros Occidental after Sitio Hibong in Barangay Don Jorge L. Araneta, Bago City officially received electricity on May 16, marking the company’s 57th energized sitio under its rural electrification program.
The project brought electricity to 30 households in the far-flung community, giving residents access to better lighting, improved communication, and greater opportunities for education and livelihood.
The energization initiative forms part of Negros Power’s continuing efforts to expand reliable electricity services to underserved communities across Central Negros.
Engr. Leomel Tambanillo, assistant vice president for Planning, Business Operations and Sitio Electrification Program and spokesperson of Negros Power, said the company remains committed to reaching remote areas that still lack access to power.
“Every position we energize represents hope and progress for the community. Through these projects, we are not only providing electricity but also opening more opportunities for education, livelihood, communication, and better living conditions for our fellow Negrenses,” Tambanillo said.
Residents welcomed the development, noting that access to electricity would help students study more effectively at night, improve daily living conditions, and create opportunities for small businesses and other income-generating activities within the community.
With the successful energization of Sitio Hibong, Negros Power continues to move closer to its goal of delivering safe, reliable, and accessible electricity to more families throughout its franchise area.*
