Negros Power extends aid to Kanlaon-affected communities

Negros Power has extended a helping hand, offering a lifeline of essential supplies to those affected by the recent eruption of Mount Kanlaon.

According to a press release from the company, four barangays – Maao, Mailum, Ilijan, and Binubuhan – were chosen to receive the company’s assistance, a gesture of support that brought much-needed relief to approximately 1,000 residents. Bottled water and face masks were distributed to families struggling to cope with the eruption’s aftermath.

“We are struggling with a shortage of clean water, especially for our infants,” Rola Sanico, Kagawad of Barangay Mailum, shared as she expressed gratitude for the help.

“This is a testament to Negros Power’s ongoing commitment to serving our customers, not just through electricity but through any means that can help them,” explained Maricel Pe, Negros Power Vice President for Customer Care.*
