Negros Power gives incentives to 120 Silay households

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

For maintaining a full year without electricity disconnections under its Sitio Electrification Program, Negros Power rewarded 120 households with cash incentives in Sitio Imbang Mesa, Barangay Bagtic in Silay City, Negros Occidental.

As part of a commitment made during the launch of the initiative last year, Negros Power fulfilled its promise of a special reward if the community could maintain good standing and avoid disconnections for one year.

True to its word, the company awarded a cash incentive during the fiesta on May 8, which residents used to support their local celebration.

Engr. Leomel Tambanillo, Assistant Vice President for Planning, Business Operations, and Sitio Electrification Program spokesperson, the achievement reflects strong community discipline and cooperation.

“This accomplishment shows what unity and responsibility can achieve. The residents of Hda. Imbang Mesa worked together for a whole year without disconnections, and that benefits everyone,” Tambanillo said in a statement issued by Negros Power.

He added that the initiative goes beyond electrification, emphasizing responsible energy use and partnership between the company and consumers.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Joshua Arsenal, expressed gratitude for the support extended by the power provider, saying the assistance significantly contributed to their fiesta celebration and strengthened community ties.

The electrification project in Hda. Imbang Mesa includes the installation of 32 power poles, nearly three kilometers of electrical wiring, and two distribution transformers, forming part of Negros Power’s broader efforts to expand electricity access across rural communities.*
