Employees of Negros Power and the Guardians of the Environment participated in a tree planting activity held in the mountainous region of Don Salvador Benedicto, also attended by Vice Mayor Nehemiah Joe Dela Cruz, on September 29.
The program, spearheaded by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), is part of the IBP’s advocacy for “Justice For Environment, according to a statement issued by Negros Power.
Atty. Gerry Llena, President of the IBP in Negros Occidental, expressed gratitude to Negros Power for being one of the major sponsors of the activity.
More than 500 individuals from various organizations, government employees, institutions, and Indigenous Peoples in Negros Occidental, participated in the tree planting activity, with about 2,000 trees planted, including Almaciga, Bacan, Narra, and Acacia species.
This activity is one of the programs undertaken by Negros Power as a commitment to environmental conservation and the protection of natural resources.*
