In order to advance the welfare of the electricity consumers and in pursuance of its advocacy for consumer education and empowerment, ACCESS headed by its president Wennie Sancho, came up with an evaluation of the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP)  launched by the Negros Power recently.

Negros Power’s vision is to ensure equitable access to reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity for all Negrenses, bridging the energy gap and fostering inclusive economic growth. The noble mission is to provide universal access to electricity prioritizing marginalized communities and promoting social equity, economic empowerment and environmental sustainability.

Among its objectives is to achieve 100 percent household electrification by 2028. To ensure equal access to electricity for all, regardless of income, location or social status and by implementing subsidized rates for low-income households.

The press release adds that the EFA program is a mechanism in the attainment of social justice that shall empower the powerless, the marginalized sector, as a people endowed with dignity and respect.*
