Negros Power is set to enhance electricity reliability and improve service quality for consumers in four different areas of Bacolod City, on March 14, through a series of distribution transformer capacity uprates.
According to Negros Power, the measure aims to address potential overloading issues that could lead to unexpected and widespread power interruptions, ensuring a more stable and consistent standard voltage and power supply for residents.
To facilitate these upgrades, Negros Power will be implementing temporary power interruptions in the affected areas, allowing crews to work safely and efficiently.
The details of the scheduled power outages are as follows, in terms of time and affected areas:
8 a.m. to 12 noon: Portion of MF2 – Eroreco Subd., Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City. Reason: Uprating of 37.5KVA distribution transformer into 75KVA distribution transformer
8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Portion of AF1 – Florenceville, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City. Reason: Uprating the 25KVA common distribution transformer into a 50KVA distribution transformer and replacing the primary wooden pole with a 40 foot concrete pole.
8 a.m. to 12 noon: Portion of AF1 – Ramylu DR, Brgy. Tangub, Bacolod City. Reason: Uprating of 25KVA distribution transformer into 50KVA distribution transformer.
1 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Portion of AF8 – Phase 5, Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City. Reason: Uprating of 15KVA common distribution transformer into 50KVA distribution transformer.
The upgrades are part of Negros Power’s comprehensive 5-year rehabilitation and modernization plan, a commitment to delivering a more reliable and efficient power system for the entire region.*
