In celebration of the 30th Provincial Environment Month, spearheaded by the Provincial Environment Management Office (PEMO), a photo exhibit with the theme “Connecting People and Wetlands Ecosystems Services” was realized in collaboration with the Provincial Administrator’s Office and PEMO in partnership with the Camera Club of Negros.

The photo documentation focused on the Negros Occidental Coastal Wetlands Conservation Area (NOCWCA), which was designated as the 7th Ramsar Site of the Philippines and 2,271st Ramsar Site of the World, and 4th East Asian Australasian Flyway Site. This is where the Provincial Government garnered the 2021 Galing Pook Award through Program: Network of Alliances for Coastal Wetlands Conservation.

Aside from the photo exhibit, a Peoples Organizations Products Showcase also provided opportunities to upland and coastal peoples organizations to showcase their products. In partnership with SM City Bacolod, they will be given a chance to enhance market linkages and network of partners.

The Photo Exhibit and Peoples Organizations Product showcase in the 2nd floor of SM will run from June 1 to 15. The Photo Exhibit will then be transferred to the bridge area from June 16-24.*
