Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez yesterday confirmed that he has already chosen the successor of PCol. Noel Aliño to be the director of the Bacolod City Police Office.
Of the three names of candidates submitted to him by the Police Regional Office 6 to be the new BCPO chief, Benitez said he and the PNP have agreed on one candidate, which is his personal preference.
One of the qualifications he wants from the incoming BCPO chief is a good track record in previous assignments.
Meanwhile, Aliño was installed as the new regional chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the National Capital Region on July 22.
PCol. Joel Apelo Ana, who was transferred to PRO 6, was replaced as NCR regional chief of CIDG by Aliño.
Benitez said he is now waiting for an official order from PRO 6 on the police official he has chosen as the incoming BCPO chief.*
