The Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI) has requested a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the second tranche of the P20 per kilogram sale of rice in Bacolod City, according to Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Jose Marty Go.
In a press briefing, he explained that the FTI requested a revised MOA for the second batch of rice, which will require the signature of Mayor Greg Gasataya.
“The FTI advised that they require a new MOA as number 1, the old MOA was still under the signatory of [former] Mayor Albee and it should be signed by Mayor Greg now, and number 2, they had a revision,” Go said.
The first tranche of the P20 per kilo rice sale, held in June, was still covered under the term of former Mayor and now Bacolod Lone District Congressman Albee Benitez.
The city purchased 5,880 sacks of rice for the first tranche, valued at P7.7 million.
For the second tranche, the plan is to purchase 3,930 sacks, with an estimated value of P5.2 million.
The city government will review the document and seek a Resolution of Authority to Sign for Gasataya from the Sangguniang Panlungsod.*
